THE NATIONAL PROGRAMME FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT*
General objectives:
» Improving competitiveness of the agricultural and forestry sectors;
» Improving the environment and the countryside;
» Improving the quality of life in rural areas and encouraging diversification of rural economy;
» Starting the operation of local development initiatives (LEADER).

REGIONAL OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME*
General objective:
To support the economic, social, territorially balanced and sustainable development of the Romanian Regions, according to their specific needs and resources, focusing on urban growth poles, improving the business environment and basic infrastructure, in order to make the Romanian Regions, especially the ones lagging behind, more attractive places to live, visit, invest in and work.

• Rehabilitation and modernization of the county roads and urban streets network- including construction/rehabilitation of ring roads

• Rehabilitation / modernization / equipping the infrastructure of health services

• Sustainable development of business support structures with regional and local relevance
• Rehabilitation of unused polluted industrial sites and preparation for new activities
• Supporting the development of micro-enterprises

• Restoration and sustainable valorization of cultural heritage and creation / modernization of related infrastructure
• Creation/ development/ modernization of specific infrastructures for the sustainable use of natural resources and an increased quality of tourism services
• Promoting the tourism potential and creating the necessary infrastructure to increase Romania’s attractiveness as a tourist destination

THE SECTORAL OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME INCREASE OF ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS *
General objective:
To increase the productivity of Romanian companies, in compliance with the principles of sustainable development, and reducing the disparities compared to the average productivity of EU

Priorities:

» Priority Axis 1: An innovative and eco-efficient productive system
Key areas of intervention:
• Productive and environment friendly and investment and preparation for market competition, especially for SMEs
• Access to financing for SMEs
• Development of a sustainable entrepreneurship

» Priority Axis 2: Research, economic development and innovation for competitiveness
Key areas of intervention:
• Research&development partnerships between universities/institutes of research and development and enterprises to generate results with direct economic application
• Investment in the RDI infrastructure
• Access of enterprises to RDI activities

Key areas of intervention:
• Supporting the use of ICT
• Developing and increasing the efficiency of electronic public services
• Developing the e-economy

» Priority Axis 4: Increasing the energy efficiency and security of supply, within the context of the fight against climate change

• Efficient and sustainable energy (improving energy efficiency and environmental sustainability of the energetic system)
• Valorisation of renewable energy resources to produce green energy
• Diversification of interconnecting networks with a view to strengthen security of energy supply

General objective:
To promote a sustainable transport system in Romania, which will facilitate safe, fast and efficient movement of persons and goods with appropriate level of service at European standards, nationally, Europe-wide and between and within Romanian regions.

Priorities:

» Priority Axis 1: Modernization & development of TEN-T priority axes aiming at a sustainable integrated with the EU transport networks

» Priority Axis 2: Modernization and development of the national transport infrastructure outside the TEN-T axes aiming at a sustainable national transport system
